Brad and Jen

Today, like most of you, I was shocked to learn that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were ending their marriage of 4 years. This news hit me in the head with a splat the way the newspaper does when I sleep on the porch on a rainy night.

I hope you will join me in remembering the good times. And don't forget how painful this must be for both Brad and Jen. I mean, they must have really tried to save the marriage, right? Oh the pain they must have felt. I can just imagine the long talks they must have had, late into the night, as they lay in bed, trying to expose their raw feelings about how to make their marriage last. Just Brad, Jen, his agent, her lawyer, their publicists.

God, what will they do now? I can't even bear to think. Sure, Brad will probably lose himself in his work, as so many men do after a painful break-up. And Jen? Well, I don't really know what Jen will do but I'm sure her agent is working on that. She has an agent, right? I mean, what does she do anyway?

Light a candle for Brad and Jen. And hug those you love. The world will heal. But only just.
