Buddhism: the Path of the Introvert

Only 25% of the general population are inclined towards introversion. So in theory this portion of the public have the ideal personality traits to be a good buddhist.

For an introvert , their world is mind made. introverts live in the world of thoughts , ideas and concepts. An introvert can often spend hours being by themselves cocooned in the mental cushion of their mind. Deeply analysing every detailed thought that enters and leaves.

For the average person, meditation goes against what is natural. Often there is much resistance to sitting still. Our mind finds this activity dangerously mundane . But for an introvert meditation is like a safe refuge where we retreat to leave behind our normally neurotic and insane world.

I would consider myself an introvert who has always found the inner world of non material thoughts more fascinating then the external world of physical form. For me living a buddhist lifestyle and practicing meditation really comes natural to me .

If introverts are concerned about there inner world of thoughts, many will find buddhism a guiding light, a detailed roadmap in vast mental landscape they so readly inhabit.

ik - interesting, but how does this reconcile with the need to ensure we don't retreat into what Chogham Trungpa called "the Cocoon?"
