    Happy Shambhala Day!

Today marks the first day of the New Year in the Lunar, and thus Tibetan, calendar. Those of us who follow the Shambhala Path are today turning the page from the Year of the Fire Pig to the Year of the Earth Mouse. Today I'll be hanging out with some of the others in the local sangha, listening to a message from the Sakyong and, then, share a meal. Hopefully the meal will be neither pig nor mouse.

Today also marks the official end to the 100 Days of Sitting challenge I took part in. And boy is my butt tired! ;-) All in all, I did well, although there were a few days I missed. Oddly enough, it was most difficult to find the time to sit during the holidays. Does that make sense? I'll probably commit to another 100 days - or even a year - after today. It's a great way to develop discipline.

In any event, to my fellow Shambhalians, Happy Shambhala Day, and to my fellow Buddhists, Happy New Year! And to everyone, what a great way to start fresh!
